Alpharetta Wood Flooring is a wood flooring company in Alpharetta, GA with 20+ years of experience refinishing, repairing and installing hardwood floors. We work on the floors people already live on: oak that has worn through in the kitchen, stairs still covered in builder carpet, boards that cupped over a humid summer, and floors that turned up damage on a termite inspection.

We are floor people first. That means we would rather tell you a screen and recoat will do than sell you a full sanding, and we would rather find the leak under the floor than sand a cupped board flat and watch it crown by fall.

Our Approach

Worker sanding the rounded nose of a new oak stair tread clamped to a work table in the garage of an Alpharetta job site.

Every job starts by working out why the floor looks the way it does. Cupped boards get moisture meter readings and a look underneath before anyone talks about sanding. Oak floors from the 1990s and 2000s get checked for how much wood is left above the tongue before we recommend refinishing them. Older homes get a look at the build year and any painted surfaces, because federal lead-safe rules reach houses built before 1978.

When something has gone wrong, we repair it properly rather than covering it up. Termite-damaged boards are cut out after treatment and woven in with matching stock, never filled. Water damage is traced, dried and documented room by room for the adjuster. Landlords get itemized estimates they can hold against the move-out inspection list, and sellers get repair scopes that fit a closing date.

The smaller decisions get the same care. Stain samples go down on your own floor, in your own light, before you pick a color. Stairs are quoted tread by tread.

Clear finishes are chosen by the federal VOC category that actually applies to them. And in a townhome or condominium, your association’s written approval is confirmed before we start, because any interior flooring rule comes from your own declaration rather than state law.

What We Do

We refinish and stain hardwood floors, screen and recoat finishes that are worn but intact, and repair floors damaged by water, termites, pets and everyday wear. We install solid and engineered hardwood, including herringbone and wide plank floors, replace builder-grade carpet, laminate and vinyl plank with real wood, and build or refinish hardwood stairs. If your floor needs attention, request a free estimate and we will come out, take readings and tell you what we find.
